Who doesn’t love an alpaca? Cute and cuddly animals are becoming quite the guests of honor at many hip and front of fashion weddings in the Northern California area. Alpacas love to be hugged, and are just as good for photos as they are at bringing laughter to any outdoor reception.

Laura Vollset with FieldSketch Farm and I were brainstorming when the idea struck to bring a little fun to the event by adding the famously cuddle prone animal to the next shoot. As luck would have it, Rockstar Alpacas, one of the top alpaca breeding farms in the country, was only just down the street in nearby Royal Oaks and super excited for the chance to provide the love and affection that literally radiates from the beautiful animals.

On the day of the shoot, the team was surprised to find out that a new baby alpaca was being born right on-site, and our couple even got the chance to take some pictures with the new member of the local breeder’s family.

Laura Vollset with FieldSketch Farm made the most of their gorgeous, sustainably grown fresh flowers to create a lush and abundant set of floral designs focused on beautiful fall textures, including berries and seed pods. The rich, subtle hues in the florals were chosen to create a luxurious feel without stiffness or formality. From bridal bouquet, to cake flowers and floral accents for decor, FieldSketch wove strands of seasonal beauty throughout and topped it all off with that little something special…baby alpaca flower crown anyone?!

To help bring the day together, Alexis Barry with Tart and Tin created a dessert spread perfectly designed for the small, intimate wedding. The classic vanilla bean mud cake with vanilla bean Swiss meringue buttercream adorned with hand painted gold accents pairs wonderfully with figs and edible flowers that adore ombre tinted white chocolate tarts with real gold leaf! Hand painted fondant cookies conjure romantic sentiments and the truffles complete the table with perfectly portioned morsels of fudgy goodness.

Nicole Del Moral with Altogether Lovely Shop aimed for a rustic meets elegance vibe to match the vibrant setting. The cotton rag-deckle edged paper adds natural elements and complement the hand drawn botanicals and rosettes that evoke a traditional elegance. All of this was pulled together with tones of muted mauve and a touch of vintage gold for the wax seal.

The intimate sweetheart table provided by Lori Powell with Revival Vintage Rentals illuminates and brings together the entire ensemble by fostering emotions of intimacy and elegance while merging beautifully with the positive vibe of the farm.

Thanks to Cara Hopkins with Face Forward Bridal & Carmel, she helped bring out the beauty in our models!
