Camp Lucy | Kayla & Patrick

Kayla and Patrick, getting to photograph your day was such a joy! You two wanted a wedding that felt classic and warm and full of the people you love, and that is exactly what we got. I flew in from California for this one, and the Texas Hill Country did not disappoint. Camp Lucy gave us live oaks, big skies, and the kind of light I dream about, and the two of you brought all the heart.

I always love starting with the little details, because they set the whole tone. Kayla's invitation suite was monogrammed K and P and styled with pearls and soft greenery, her shoes were covered in delicate beading, and her bouquet was full of creamy white roses and so much green. Every piece felt intentional and timeless.

Kayla, you were absolutely glowing getting ready. That strapless gown with the dramatic train was stunning on you, and watching you slip into your jewelry in that pretty wallpapered room was one of my favorite quiet moments of the morning. Meanwhile the guys were having the best time, helping Patrick with his tie and lounging around before the big moment.

Then it was time for the first look, and oh, this one got me! Patrick, the way you turned around and pulled Kayla in, laughing and holding her hands, said everything. There is nothing like that first reaction when it is just the two of you.

Kayla also had a first look with her dad, and I will be honest, I teared up behind the camera. The hug, the way he wiped his eyes, all of it. Those moments between a father and his daughter are some of the most tender ones I get to witness.

We stole a little time for portraits around Camp Lucy's beautiful stone archways, and you two made it so easy. Foreheads together, soft laughs, that easy closeness. The palette was classic and elegant, navy suits with soft champagne ties against crisp white florals, and it all looked so good against the warm stone.

And then there was the wedding party! The bridesmaids in their rich rust gowns and the groomsmen in deep navy were such a gorgeous combination, and this crew brought all the energy. So many big laughs and so much love surrounding the two of you.

The ceremony took place outside under a canopy of live oaks, with a lush green and white floral arch framing the two of you. Patrick waited at the front while Kayla came down the aisle on her dad's arm, and the whole scene under those sprawling Hill Country trees was just breathtaking.

Camp Lucy gave us the prettiest spaces to celebrate, from the playful blue rotary phone guestbook to the soaring timber reception hall with greenery cascading from the rafters. And that cake! Simple and classic with fresh white roses, exactly your style.

When golden hour rolled in, we ran back out into the oaks and the open field while the light went soft and warm. Kayla, your veil floating in that Hill Country breeze with the sun behind you is something I will not forget. You two looked like you were floating.

And then the party! From your first dance and that big celebratory spin, to cutting the cake, to a dance floor that absolutely did not stop, this reception was pure joy. Glow sticks, heart-shaped sunglasses, the whole room going for it. It was the perfect send-off to such a beautiful day.

Kayla and Patrick, thank you for letting me be part of such a warm, joyful day, and for trusting me to travel out to Texas to tell your story. Every bit of it, from the quiet morning details to the very last song, was a gift to photograph. Wishing you a lifetime of exactly this much joy!
