Hanna and Gavin knew exactly what they wanted their wedding to be: a big, joyful party surrounded by every single person they love. They are the kind of fun, magnetic couple who wanted all their best friends standing beside them, and the energy of this day never once let up. It was non-stop celebration from the first moment to the last song.
They chose one of the most beautiful settings in the Bay Area for it, Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga. Built in 1912 as the private estate of Senator James Duval Phelan, the Mediterranean-style villa is now a National Historic Landmark, tucked into 150 acres of romantic gardens and foothills. Think original early-California interiors, columned pavilions, marble statues, and long garden paths lined with cypress. It is grand and timeless, the perfect stage for a black-tie celebration.
The look was elegant and a little dramatic, black tuxedos, bridesmaids in soft sage, and these lush, painterly florals in coral, peach, and burgundy spilling out everywhere against all that greenery.
With their big, beloved wedding party gathered around them, Hanna and Gavin wandered the villa's gardens and cypress-lined paths for portraits in that gorgeous Saratoga light.
Then came the ceremony, exchanged among the villa's columns and arches with all their people packed in close, full of emotion and so much love.
The reception was pure celebration, tables layered with those incredible florals, candlelight everywhere, and a crowd ready to dance.
And dance they did. Hanna and Gavin, you wanted a big party surrounded by love, and that is exactly what you got. Thank you for letting me capture every joyful, non-stop moment of it at Montalvo.
