Montalvo Arts Center | Adaeze & Vigilant

Some love stories are written across continents. Adaeze and Vigilant have wandered a good part of this world, and somewhere along the way they found the one person who felt like home. When it came time to say "I do," they did it their way: no enormous guest list, no fuss, just the people who mean the most to them, gathered together for one perfect day.

They chose the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga for it, and honestly, I could not have dreamed up a more beautiful place for these two. A Mediterranean villa tucked into the California hills, lush gardens, and that gorgeous golden light pouring through the trees. It is the kind of setting that already feels like a love letter before anyone says a word.

The morning started slow and sweet, the way the best ones do. Beautiful little details everywhere you looked, that stunning gown waiting by the window, and two people getting ready to walk toward the rest of their lives. I live for these quiet in-between moments, the deep breaths and the last glances in the mirror.

And then the portraits. The arches, the gardens, that warm afternoon glow against the stone of the villa. Adaeze and Vigilant lit up in front of the camera, and my job became the easiest one in the world: just stay close and catch it.

The ceremony took my breath away. Picture an aisle lined with towering cypress trees, two pillars of florals bursting with citrus and blush, and the villa glowing in the distance. They held hands, they laughed, a few happy tears, and right there in that cathedral of trees they promised each other forever.

Then came the part I love most: the joy that spills over the second it is official. All the way back down that aisle, laughing the whole way, married. You cannot fake this kind of happiness, and you do not have to, you just feel it.

The celebration carried that same bright, joyful energy. A citrus-and-blush palette everywhere you looked, a sweet little bar, the prettiest cake, and a table set so beautifully it felt like a painting. Every detail was thoughtful, every detail was them.

But the thing I will remember most is not the flowers or the cake. It is the people. The laughter around that table, the hugs, the way everyone leaned in close because that is what an intimate wedding gives you, room for the love to be felt. That feeling is the whole reason I do this.

This gorgeous celebration was even featured on the front page of Style Me Pretty, which still makes me smile every time I think about it. But front page or not, what matters to me is that Adaeze and Vigilant got the day they dreamed of, and I got to be there for all of it. Congratulations, you two. Here is to a lifetime of joy!
