An Adventure Made for Two

My Approach

Real moments, real you

I want your heart to swell every time you go through your photos! That is what drives me every single session, making images that feel alive, colorful, and genuinely, unmistakably you.

An engagement session is so much more than practice photos. It is an adventure with your person. We explore a location together, I give you natural prompts that bring out real laughs and real connection, and before you know it you have forgotten there is a camera involved. The result is images that feel bold and fun, not stiff or posed.

Many of my couples also book an engagement session before their wedding so we get to know each other first. By the time your wedding day arrives, you will feel completely at ease in front of my camera. That comfort shows in every photo.

Where We Can Go

Favorite Session Spots

I'm always happy to recommend a beautiful spot, but the best engagement sessions often happen somewhere meaningful to you, like where you got engaged or a place that already holds your story. If you have a location with memories attached, even better! Here are a few favorites to get us dreaming:

Flower Fields

Wildflower season is pure magic

Live Oak Forests

Dappled light through sprawling, storybook branches

Mountaintops

Big skies and sweeping views for a breathtaking backdrop

Open Fields

Golden grasses and wide-open space, simple and stunning

Beaches

Soft sand, crashing waves, golden-hour perfection

Hikes

Lace up and adventure together to somewhere unforgettable

Llama & Alpaca Farms

A little quirky, completely wonderful, featured on The Knot!

Hill Country

Wildflowers, rolling hills, and gorgeous skies

Your Favorite Local Park

Sometimes the best spot is one that already holds your memories

FAQ

Common Questions

Where should we do our engagement session?

Anywhere that feels like you! If you have a place that is meaningful to your relationship, even better. During our planning call, I will help you think through options based on the time of year, lighting, and your vibe.

What should we wear?

Wear something that makes you feel like yourselves, comfortable, flattering, and a little elevated from your everyday look. I recommend coordinating without matching exactly (think complementary colors, not identical outfits). Avoid very busy patterns or logos. I will send you a full style guide before your session with seasonal color palettes and specific tips. Bringing a second outfit is always a great idea!

When should we schedule our engagement session?

I recommend booking your engagement session about eight months before your wedding, especially if you want to use your photos for save-the-dates or a wedding website. That said, there is no wrong time! Many couples do their session as soon as they get engaged because it is a wonderful reason to celebrate and get beautiful photos together. I also recommend scheduling your hair and makeup trial for the day of your session, so you can see exactly how it will look with my photography style before the big day. Golden hour (the hour before sunset) is my favorite time to shoot, so we will plan around that whenever possible.

Is an engagement session included in wedding packages?

It depends on the package! Several of my wedding collections include an engagement session, which I strongly encourage. It gives us a chance to work together before the wedding day so you feel completely relaxed and natural in front of my camera. If it is not included in your package, you can always add one on.
